My best editor can't write a single word

The most valuable member of my content process never drafts anything. It only judges — and that separation is the whole point.

When the same system writes and approves its own work, every draft passes. Quality drifts toward average, because nothing in the loop is incentivised to say no.

So I split the roles. One system writes. A completely separate one — with different instructions, no ability to edit, and no stake in the draft — scores it against fixed criteria: is it specific, is it true, does it sound like a person with a point of view.

Anything that fails goes back with the reasons attached. The writer never sees the reader; the reader never softens the verdict. That tension is where the quality comes from.
